beacon + bowery - Apparel & Home
Apparel & Acccessories
The beacon + bowery apparel and home line melds the buttoned-up style of Boston’s Beacon Hill with the edginess of Manhattan’s Lower East Side. A former New Yorker, founder and creative director Jacqueline Carrington continues to visit the city for inspiration and to soak up its inimitable energy. She’s equally committed to her hometown of Boston and supported its local industry by producing this line there.
beacon + bowery's prints originate from Jacqueline's intricate paintings, drawings, and collages. Her process of layering paint, beads, tissue paper, and fabric onto a painting can be felt in the ease of how her silhouettes and fabrics mix and match and layer over top one another.
The SS16 collection celebrates the allure of exotic destinations and a desire to get away from it all. Cerulean blue and pink that’s as bright as bougainvillea brings to mind the Caribbean’s vibrant hues, while intricate geometric prints echo those motifs found in hand painted tiles and textile work from Jaipur, Morocco and Istanbul. Decorative pillows and curtain panels as well as flowy tanks, shift dresses and other simple silhouettes impart a breezy vibe whether you’re at the beach or in the big city.
